Pre‑Registration for Grades 10-12!
We know it’s short notice, but we will be welcoming 10th–12th grade students and parents to the school this Wednesday, August 5th, from 2:00-6:00 PM for pre‑registration.
If you’re unable to attend during that time, feel free to call the school to schedule a time to stop in and get registered.

📚 2026–27 School Supply Information
Class supply lists for Kindergarten–6th Grade have now been posted below. Families can review each grade’s list to prepare for the upcoming school year.
This year, our PTO has generously provided scissors, pencils, tissues, and paper towels for all elementary classrooms. We are incredibly grateful for their support.
For Grades 7–12, there is no official supply list, but students may find the following items helpful throughout the year:
Notebooks for classwork and organization
Headphones or earbuds (wired only - no Bluetooth)
Indoor gym shoes - required for 7th–9th Grade students

As we get closer to the June school district election, Litchville-Marion voters will see a question on the ballot about how our school board members are elected. We want to take a moment to share some background so everyone has a clear understanding of what is being asked.
The Litchville-Marion School District was formed in 2003 when the Litchville and Marion school districts came together. At that time, the Reorganization Plan set up a seven-member school board with seats tied to different geographic areas of the district. This helped make sure that different parts of the newly combined district were represented.
In June, voters will be asked whether to amend that plan and gradually transition all seven school board seats to at-large representation.
Right now, six of the board members must live within designated areas of the district, while one position is already elected at-large. If the amendment is approved, those area-based seats would shift to at-large as they come up for election, starting in June 2027. Over time, all seven seats would become at-large positions.
Why Is This Being Considered?
Like many districts, we periodically take a look at how things are structured to see if they still fit how our district operates today.
The current system was put in place when the two districts first joined together, with the goal of making sure different areas had a voice during those early years. Over time, however, it can sometimes be difficult to find individuals willing or able to serve from specific geographic areas when seats are tied to those locations.
At the same time, some community members value having representation connected to specific areas of the district. The current system was designed with that in mind, and that is part of what voters are being asked to consider.
The proposed change would allow for a gradual shift to a system where all board members represent the district as a whole, while also providing more flexibility in who can run for open seats.
This question gives our community the opportunity to decide whether to keep the current system or move in that direction over time.
What Would Not Change?
It’s important to note that this proposal does not change the size of the school board or how long members serve. The board would still have seven members, each serving three-year terms, and current members would finish out their elected terms.
We hope this helps give a clear picture of what the ballot question is asking and what it could mean for our school district. As always, we appreciate the support and involvement of our community, and we encourage everyone who is eligible to get out and vote in the upcoming school election.
