Music Boosters was started by a group of parents who supported students enrolled in music and/or band in grades 5-12. If you have a child in music and/or band, you are part of the Music Boosters.
Music Boosters arrange for students in grades 7-8 to go on a day field trip to a music theme or related to a musical field. They have attended the Fargo Theatre or a play in Fargo. This happens every other year.
Students in grades 9-12 go on a field trip to Mpls/St. Paul every other year. In the past, the students have attend a program at the Chanhassen Theatre, enjoyed a comedy club, the Mall of America, toured a piano museum, the state capital, the St. Paul Cathedral, and the Como Park Zoo among many other adventures. All money raised by the students along with Music Boosters pay for the trip. Students bring money only for shopping or things not covered by the group.
Music Boosters host the annual “Music, Dinner and More,” held a few days before Music Contest. Students perform pieces they will be competing at Music Contest held in Edgeley. The students are able to tweak their performances and get the jitters out of their system after performing in public.
Families bring hotdishes, desserts, buns, relish trays, etc. with anyone and everyone invited to attend. The meal is free will and the money goes into the Music Booster fund.
As part of their commitment, Music Boosters ask the students to do a community service project. In the past, the students have performed for the residents of the Enderlin Nursing Home.
Other fundraising held in the past has been Pizza Corner frozen pizza orders, Schwan food orders, silent auctions, and bake sales, to name just a few.
